Metropolis .....

..... on the big screen.


This evening I've been to the last event of this year's Ilkley Film Festival, the recently restored edition of Metropolis. At almost 3 hours it's a true epic and the whole film had live accompaniment by the BFI pianist Stephen Horne. As well as playing piano ( including hitting the strings directly to create sound effects ) he also played an accordion and flute to accompany different characters in the film. It's been a great evening, so today's blip is .....
