Morning Commute 4
The last picture I took of the 'moto' madness didn't do the image justice. Here, you can see the size and scale of the 'snake' that twists & turns around the cars and roads. Road works here have temporarily diverted much of the parallel traffic into this stretch. A 5 minute journey took me 30 minutes today! The green vans are converted mini-vans for cargo, that have had seating welded into place, bars put over the lights for protection and then are used as taxis carrying max 12 passengers. The windows are often missing (or just cut out of the metal sides) with canvas wraps to protect against the rain when it comes. Most worrying, is the fact that the rear doors are invariably welded shut. I dread to think what happens when there is an accident. Note the haze in the air. The drivers often wear masks as the dust is everywhere.
