Double Doors...

These two doors are about a metre and a half high in a very old wall, and as you can see are now straight onto, what is now a very busy road.

Above the wall there are some old terrace houses and a walkway in front of them. I can only guess that these doors may have led to cellars of the houses above.

The wall stretches for a few hundred metres down the hill, made of stone, but not necessarily in straight lines!

This is an old part of Knaresborough, once an important town in North Yorkshire.
