Misty morning

This is what the campus of UEA looked like as I arrived this morning for my first day at work. More 'moody and mysterious' than it's usual 'green and pleasant' look.

It went well. I have a desk, I can access the computer system, the electronic pass I have been issued with works and I wasn't ignored. By the end of the week I am to be allocated some 'proper work' to do, which will be good.

It's always a bit strange starting a new job and realising that one is no longer the 'expert' but a 'beginner'. Particularly when, in this case, I have been used to working in very small organisations and now employed by an organisation which employs hundreds of people.

I'm looking forward to the challenge and the opportunities which lay ahead.
