Young Timer

Hermann is 81, a former part time farmer and fulltime carpenter responible for the christmas crib in the church and even today after 60years, responsible for the supervision and control of the village's house water supply. He even climbs down in to the spring duct/chamber to inspect the pumps!

If a bit cool with a light easterly wind, a great day. We came across Hermann and his Fendt 231 GT which is probably around 1970, the model manufactured from 1967 to 1993! The GT does not refer to it's performance but to the fact it is a so called "Geräte Träger" or in English Implement Carrier. All the major mechanics are either very close to or under the cabin and the front and middle free for various implements, in this case a tipper. Very practical and would be ideal for us but also very treasured, difficult & expensive to find used.

Not a popular tractor format in the UK although David Brown did build one, the 2D.

Slowly catching up on things at home but a way to go. Have switched off comments for the time being and hope to be back up later this week. Tomorrow another warm and therefore busy outdoor day forecast.

All you Blipers are in my thoughts though!
