Bolly cake

Early start as I wanted to get a run in this morning. Managed to do 8.5K at 10kph. Not too bad.
Back to J's parents for a shower and then an attack on the cake. It had survived the trip down in the car. No matter how I tried I couldn't get the icing to work as I wanted to. As a result it had to be done in a couple of sections. You could see the joins but couldn't be helped. The rest of the icing wasn't too bad and I was semi pleased with the result. Took 2hours to get it looking like this and I don't think another 2 hours would have made much difference.

J came back from doing a bit of shopping shortly before her nieces arrived. Once they had been fed we took them off climbing. Taught J how to belay and the kids climbed for nearly 3 hours. They seemed to have fun, however I don't get a climb in again. Maybe next time now J can belay.

Left there and went over to see V&V. They had a family get together so we left a bit early and dropped the cake over to the Chinese restaurant for Flip Flip Top's birthday.
Met some of the other and had a well deserved pint while waiting for the rest to turn up.

It was nice to see L feeling much better. Amazing to think she was having brain surgery just over a week ago. She seemed to have a great night and the cake got demolished.
Left them to it and crashed when we got to V&V. A good but exhausting day.
