Calling Curlew - Freiston Shore
Today's onomatopoeic bird of the day! The Curlew is so called as that's the sound of it's call. The same way in which a Cuckoo is.
It was a dank and overcast afternoon, but I had a red wine induced headache so some fresh Lincolnshire sea air was required. So a couple of hours down at the hide was needed to blow away the cobwebs.
There wasn't anything new from yesterday. The Goldeneye were still there but back in their usual place away from the hide. The highlight of the evening was a decent sized Starling Murmuration that happened just before I left. It was in fading light but I managed to get this shot of it.
Starling Murmuration - Freiston Shore
Not a bad way to spend an afternoon!
