Leaky waders

More stormy weather predicted and more worryingly more rain. £850 for a non-return valve on this exit pipe from the mill leat seemed a bit pricey at short notice. Inflating a 90 cm yoga ball in it was a cunning plan but 3 working days delivery made it a no-goer. So the 30€ water butt got the job. AND it worked. Thank goodness. 2 pumps in and a lot of timing and water-level recording. It has to be noted that we’re not the most entertaining people to be around in a flood warning.
