Old Comiston House Doocot

From the photo you might think I have stumbled across some old forgotten fortifications in buried deep in a forest. Actually it is a doocot behind the old stable block that belonged to Comiston House and was built around 1815 for, according to Historic Scotland, James Forrest, an advocate later Lord Provost of Edinburgh.

As you can see, the doocot, unlike the stable, is still inhabited.

Comiston House has been converted in to luxury flats and the stable block now forgotten, it is for sale if you want a renovation project, surrounded by urban woodland and detritus.
