Immobilised in Berwick-upon-Tweed

This is the somewhat dreary view of the station car park (plus ghostly carriage reflections) that I gazed at for an hour and a half whilst the train from Newcastle sat motionless due to a total signalling failure at Drem (why is it always Drem?). That was after the 40 min or so we'd spent motionless at Alnmouth, and before the twenty minutes or so we spent motionless on the guilty Drem stretch. I'd taken a few photos of interesting scenes earlier in the day, but they were all overwhelmed by the tedium of sitting in that overheated and underinformed train for a total of three hours longer than advertised.

By the time I got back to Edinburgh I'd passed beyond hunger and just had to down a delicious pint of beer (or two!) in order to regain a semblance of normality.
