Water Bird
I went for a ride over to Bicentennial Park and took a few photos of water birds. This one is a Eurasian Coot. As their name suggests they are found in Europe and Asia and are quite common in Australia, New Guinea and Indonesia. Some have also found their way to New Zealand. Southern hemisphere colonies are basically vegetarian. They are known to hijack the nests of ducks and, in the process, will remove their eggs and kill any young ducklings.
