Wings and Things

Lucy Lu

Lucy Lu made her entry into my life seven years when a passerby plucked her out of harm's way from the middle of a busy road. The day-old Canada gosling quickly adapted to domestic life. She lived at our place residing with the sheep for several years until I decided the aviary would be a better place for her to live. After becoming a foster mother for two Emperor goslings last year, this spring she and her mate raised five Canada goslings -- her first-ever babies. After reaching maturity the young were released into the wild late this summer.
