The West Tower
Parts of our village church date back to the 10th century but the west tower featured is late 14th century. The village sits on the top of a sandstone ridge and the medieval masonry is large, roughly dressed blocks of local sandstone, possibly quarried immediately south-east of the church. There is a steep drop resembling the side of a quarry on the south east of the church which, in the 21st century, needs funds to stop the supporting wall collapsing.
