A dreary, dreich day

As you can see today's blip is almost a black and white image, not surprising when the bird in question is a Grey Plover.
Wet and cold with very little light and what there was was dampened down by a steady drizzle. The Scots have a word for it - dreich. It means wet, cold or gloomy weather and was curiously voted as the favourite Scots word in a You Gov survey last year.
It was not a day to enthuse about the outdoor world. A little bit of gardening was about the limit of it. That sad also a chance to do those boring useful things - get a library card , sign on with the local dentist and get some old tyres for the garden to name but three.
