Where the white water is rushing- it’s not supposed to be. The bank of the mill stream has burst due to the enormous weight of water. Beautiful grey clay underneath shows us the brilliant engineering with natural materials that built it over 370 years ago. It’s strange not having the millrace going past the house, and the flooding in the fields and near the mill is worse now because of the extra volume of water passing down the river.
