Nature's ice sculpture

This is from Jökulsárlón - an iceberg lagoon, situated at the tail of a glacier where it meets the ocean on the rugged east coast of Iceland.

Huge chunks of ice break off and float into the lagoon. Some wash out to sea and then end up back on the black, lava sand beach, beaten and worn by the waves into contorted and sometimes elegant shapes.

This one caught my eye glistening in the morning sun.
