In Praise of Local Public Libraries

I can't believe that we are witnessing the wholesale destruction of the local public library. What does it say about our priorities and the legacy that we will leave behind?
This blip was taken in Stretford Library; I am only familiar with the children's room which is warm, safe and comfortable and equipped with a fantastic array of books. The staff are really friendly and put on a very popular story time and rhyme time.
And if you are really observant, you may notice that Finn's book is upside down.
