Let's start with a Riga tourism standard. It's completely reconstructed, of course, having suffered the combined depradations of the second world war and the soviet occupation era, but it's impressive none the less.

First impressions of Riga are very good. Comfortable hotel. Food seems jolly nice. Beer is cheap. Apart from the weather (rainy, a bit cold, but not too bad), there's nothing else one could want for.
