Feb 19th 2009 - Neeiighhhhh!

There was a slight tension in the room after the night before but it evaporated quickly when Joana and I had a chance to chat away from the confines of the room. Tara and I decided that eggs and bacon were necessary to settle our stomachs and then it was to the bus. It was a wonderful bus ride to Otavalo with the beauty of the Ecuadorian landscape rolling by the window and Joana in my arms listening to her Ipod.

Hostel Valle Del Amanecer in Otavalo was amazing – wooden balconies, seats in the stones in the courtyard and a large tree with hammocks hanging off it. We went horse riding this afternoon – it was raining but a lot of fun. I was told two names for my horse (Blanco and Palermo) but I named him Shadowfax to inspire him. Shadowfax is the star of this blip and he was also in love with Camilla’s horse as he was not happy unless he was by her side! Our group did quite well as we only had one fall….Maïté off a wall!
