A trip to the local Nature Reserve

After bribing paying my lovely Granddaughter Cleo to look after Freddy for me this morning, I quickly tripped into work to water the plants and woodlice and then sped off for a whistle stop trip to Warnham Local Nature reserve just down the road from where I live.
I sat for ages in the bird hide talking to another photographer, and musing on how difficult it is during half term as the little children are so excited and loud the birds really don't stay around for too long!!
The children eventually went off with their parents, and a few little birds graced us with their presence, including this lovely Siskin - Carduelis spinus.
Siskins are migratory, and can be found here in the south this time of year along with Lesser Redpoles, and Bramblings, both worth keeping an eye out for. I liked this shot as I think the grey background works well with the yellow bird.
I am off to Southwater CP tomorrow I think, maybe there will be something worth seeing there.
