More new beginnings

New extraction workings on the YWT North Cave Wetlands reserve which will become part of the reserve once the work is finished.

This reserve is an amazing place, a haven for wildlife and an oasis of peace and quiet. It could have been a landfill site if it wasn't for the resilience and fight of the villagers who went to court many times to prevent this.

We saw a few nice birds there today including a female anew, 2 Chiffchaffs and lots of other ducks and a beautiful flock of lapwings.
