All is not what it seems

I was taken by the vivid blue of this orchid only for Susan to tell me later that it was dyed. What a shame I thought. I knew blue flowers were rare and I knew some flowers were dyed but was surprised to learn that this was a dyed flower.

Dyed flowers notwithstanding, we had a wonderful day with good friends in Whitstable. A roast dinner followed by enormous slices of apple pie and a good helping of conversation during the afternoon.

And we'll all convene again tomorrow during and after our walk along the Royal Military Canal from West Hythe to Seabrooke.
