The Elves and the Shoe Repairer?

It doesn't have quite the same ring as the original Grimm Bros title, but there's something about my local cobbler's shop. I'm only five foot three-ish and I really have to bend down low to reach the handle to open the door. The keyholes are even lower. Does my cobbler
have some little friends who let themselves in to do the night shift? Could explain why he's always so cheerful.
