Cairngorms ski tour

The forecast for today was not too bad after yesterday's non stop rain so my friend (who is up from flood stricken Winchester) and I decided to go for another ski tour. It was a day of parts. Above the cloud, in the cloud and below the cloud. Sunshine and mist. The snow was good for skinning up and skiing down and in the end we did quite a long tour. We skinned up the ridge above Strath Nethy to the Cairngorm weather station, down to Coire Raibert and up to Carn Lochan, down Lurchers and finally up and over to ski down Coire na Ciste back to the car. A great day with plenty of interest and on the back of seeing a mountain hare on Monday we saw ptarmigan and snow bunting. There are more pictures here.
