Janya

Had a visit to the Chester library today to renew a book for my son it's all very high tech here, not like our local one in Llangefni, with a do it yourself computer screen and lazer beams not being very good with new technology I found it surprisingly easy.

On the opposite of the road is this dear little baby Indian elephant bronze statue called Janya which is Hindi for "Life" sculptured by Annette Yarrow and gifted to the people of Chester by Chester Zoo. The tips of her ears are shiny where people stop and stroke them.

There is a brass plaque with the story of it in front of the statue.
