RIPENING

Quince and pomegranate hedges were very popular in the Victorian gardens. We have such a hedge on our West boundary. The fruit is usually ready to harvest in Autumn....pomegranate syrup for ice cream and bottled quinces that are good in a crumble or eaten with custard.Quinces are also delicious baked in the oven with left over Christmas fruit mince.
