Reminders of a Culture

We have some very dear friends that live about 200 miles away. In our younger years they lived across the road from us and we became very close. We both left that neighborhood within a month of each other, going our separate ways. They moved to Pennsylvania and we to New Hampshire. We had just had Sumner (she was only a couple of months old) and they didn't have any children yet. After trying to get pregnant for a few years they decided to adopt a little girl from China. We remained close in the early years. They subsequently adopted a second child from China. Each time they went they brought back these little treasures for us. We don't talk that often anymore. Our "babies" are grown up. Their 1st daughter Alexandra, left for Penn State last fall and Logan for Plymouth State. We have always said that we would end up neighbors again some day. Now we are thinking of what will be our next home in the coming years. Not too soon. At least 3 years down - maybe we will be close to these very special friends again.
