The Golfball

This is a local landmark at Balado just outside Kinross and it's known locally as the Golfball.

It was part of the NATO ballistic missile early warning radar network but was decommissioned se years ago. Nowadays there is low level maintenance on the site but it is no longer operational. That is evidenced by the amount of weathering on the side facing into the prevailing winds. When it was in use it was always sparkling white.
