Blood On The Tracks
Stirling Train Stations New Bridge.
Whenever I am in London I often take the train into the city and jump on and off the underground to get around its just so handy and I think its quite a cheap way of getting around. Not so sure if everybody will agree with that.
After stopping of at Picadilly, I jumped back on the underground and headed over towards The Tower of London. Whilst going down the escalator the voice of a woman announced over the tannoid system that the service to (I cant remember exactly where) had been cancelled because there was a person on the line. That first day I was there recently, I heard this was the reason for delays in two different places.
It took me back to when I first went down to visit my brother and we were on the underground together and I heard the womans voice describing the same thing. I remember being shocked and I thought well we have to call an ambulance we have to do something, make sure they are allright or do something. I looked around expecting to see people like me deeply concerned about this 'person'. Wondering, like me what can we do? To my disbelief I just heard moans of "well we will just have to get off the Circle Line here and then head down there and get on here". It still amazes me the complacency and disappointment of people whenever I here that womans voice. Its funny because travelling on the underground you are often crammed in like sardines, you can be so close to people but the reality is you are so far apart.
p.s. Im not a trainspotter by the way.
