The end of fall
Fall is over here in New England. Surprisingly, the weather has been amazingly warm over the past week or so with highs of about 70 Fahrenheit (21 C). Things have been settling back to normal and the cooler air is now up on us.
I saw this leaf as I was taking a quick walk at lunch and was attracted to the bright red color and detailed vein patterns. If you view the large image, you can see the fine details including small hairs. It is amazing that something so intricately created will simply die and fall to the ground only to return in a year. Such beauty is just tossed away only to return in the spring. It truly is amazing how mother nature works.
