Ice and Fire Sky
Another frosty start this morning and some fantastic patterns on my car windscreen as a result. I was very tempted to blip that shot as-is, but got to work as a beautiful sunrise was just about to fade.
So this shot combines them both! The texture in the sky is created by the texture of the ice shot. I brought both JPEGs into Photoshop, with the ice on the top layer, then changed the blending mode to subtract (settled on this by scrolling through each blending mode until I liked the effect). I then reduced the ice layer's opacity to taste. It was all finished off with a layer mask on the ice layer, using this to take away the ice texture from everywhere but the sky. And the result is the photo above.
Looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend, starting with a meal out with my better half and her mum, to celebrate my better half's birthday on Sunday. Have a good weekend all :)
