Bird watching again

Took a trip out to middleton lakes today, an RSPB site, it was also a good excuse to try out my new wellies in the mud, but i must say it wasn't as bad a i was expecting. Only bad in parts. The weather was fairly kind, only one down pour and thankfully just as i arrived at the canal bridge, which was a great shelter. there was quite a few birds about and on seeing me arrive ,this swan flew in thinking i had food for it. It landed quite close and started walking towards me. It must have been very hungry and i wished i 'd taken some bread. These grebes were doing a little dancing ritual which soon stopped on seeing me.
