Church Lilies
The camera club I belong to was asked to photograph all of the Stained Glass windows in St James's Church, Reading, for the purposes of historical records. They were not after any arty shots, just clarity of the window detail. Enough members seemed to be involved in getting the necessary shots, so I simply amused myself with whatever shots I fancied (without fellow camera operators getting in the way!).
I spotted the light catching the lilies and dashing into position, before the light changed. I did not mean to convert to black and white when I took the shot, but there are red carnations in the arrangement which was attracting too much attention.... so they had to go!
