Moorhouse Butchers

Julie and her husband Steve (sporting a bow tie and sadly not in this photo) have owned this fantastic traditional butchers in Hellifield for 29 years. They live above the shop. They make all their own sausages and black pudding and butcher all the meat they sell. I don't think much has changed here in all the years they've been in charge, and probably not much since the previous owner bought the place over fifty years ago.

Staying here in the Yorkshire Dales with one of my oldest friends Karen, who I met at university 28 years ago. We've had a perfect day walking the dog and the children up on the crag above Settle, followed by lunch at the Singing Kettle and a mooch around the village shops. Looking forward to sampling Julie's delicious beef tonight, and getting my gnashers round those sausages tomorrow morning :-)
