Antique Organ Detail

The Friday hike began at the small archaeological site of Dainzú, which was perched on a hillside facing the huge Tlacolula Valley. We learned from the excellent guide about how to decipher the bas reliefs of ancient ball players. We continued on to the town of Tlacachahuaya, where we ate our sack lunches and then visited the church. The interior of the church has been restored to its original beauty, and this most amazing organ was in the balcony. I don't know the time frame of all this, but it will be interesting to find out.
Photos of the whole organ and the church interior are here

We are leaving for a 9 day trip to the state of Chiapas, the most southern state of Mexico. See you on the return.
