#21 Theave and Tag

DDW February Challenge #21 Theave and Tags

Today's archaic words are theave and tag. Theave was used to refer to a ewe, with reference to it also being applied to any sheep of one to three years old. Tags are sheep in their first year of life. Included were several T words for sheep dung, which is in the picture: thrattles, trattles, trottles, tirdels, and tridlins. This theave and her tag, who live on a farm near Clear Lake, look like they were enjoying their time together this morning.
