The top strip was originally Tad and Chuque - because Tad and Zen had just had an argument. But I didn't think it worked so I brought Zen back - if Tad and Zen argue, then Tad has no one to talk to, so they never argued again.

The bottom strip: another life imitates comics moment - this is exactly how I dropped the strip off at the paper when I submitted it. I didn't even know how to do so, I just put ten originals in an envelope and dropped them off. They were yelling at me down the hall to come back but I really did just run away - I wasn't very comfortable at all with being gay yet, and I thought I'd opened myself up to ridicule. But there was a message waiting on my machine when I got home, and here we are. And that's one of the reasons this strip is so dear to me - it really, really helped my coming out process in incredible ways. Even if no one thought my jokes were funny. ;)
