Fairtrade Banana Relay

Following on from last years success with the best national fairtrade promotional campaign Derbyshire Dales came up with the idea of a Banana relay.
This years Fairtrade theme is the banana which has a particular resonance with Bakewell with its association with Chatsworth the home of the worlds most popular Banana the Cavendish, developed 170 years ago at Chatsworth by the esteemed horticulturist Joseph Paxton.
It was a lovely fun event with runners from all over dales meeting up at Matlock for a fairtrade tea of delicious cakes, tea, coffee and banana milkshakes.
