The start of the new century
In contrast to yesterday's loveliness I'm confronted with weather of biblical proportions. I've driven (more of a white knuckle drive) down to my parents in South Pembrokeshire so that I could go to my cousin's album launch in Carmarthen.
But I couldn't go, and I'm blipping from my parents' sofa.
Severe weather warning you say BBC? No blinking kidding, it's blowing a gale - Force 10 says my friend who is a lifeboatman (thankfully off duty tonight). At this very moment the wind and rain are hammering at the house, the roads are flooded, and those roads that are fairly flood free have been turned into assault courses as branches are being ripped off the trees.
When I took this photo in Cardigan (the halfway point of my journey) I thought it was funny. Now I worry what state this part of the town will be in at high tide.
Ooh, massive thunder and lightening just then - haven't heard anything that loud since I stayed by a lake in Austria!
