Not just any Blip....this...is an M&S Blip!

In 1884, Michael Marks opened his first penny stall in the open section of Leeds Market. This was the beginning of what was to become one of the largest retailers in Europe. 100 years later, Marks and Spencer opened another stall on the same pitch as the original.....it is still there today.

....I am sure that Michael Marks would have stood outside his stall and looked up at the impressive Victorian roof of the market building...and wondered what might come of his new venture!

....I never knew any of that until I went out Blipping today!
