The pudding miracle!

Chocolate Fudge Pudding before and after. It might look burnt in the "after" shot, but it wasn't - just very chocolatey and gooey. Probably could have done with a bit lower temperature in the oven, but still really good to eat.

The first time you cook this, it is an act of faith. You mix cocoa, flour, sugar, milk and melted margarine into a lazy cake mix (i.e. none of this rubbing in stuff), then sprinkle over dry cocoa powder and brown sugar, then carefully pour on a couple of cups of hot water, then put it in the oven. It looks ghastly. You think, I have just wasted a load of good ingredients.

50 mins later, you take it out, and somehow the cake mix knows it must make a gooey chocolate cake, and the mess on top knows it must make a gooey sauce. I don't know how.
