Tu Whit Tu Whoo

Heidi was in a spectacularly good mood when I got back from work this afternoon. Usually she is impossible to photograph, making a point of sliding her eyes away from the camera. Heidi is also very contrary when it comes to wearing warm clothes to go outside, our negotiation process each morning almost always starts with an outfit consisting of a thin summer dress. Cardigans, hats, scarves and gloves are a guaranteed no-no. Today though I suggested her sisters hat and she agreed, sensing I was on a roll I suggested a photo in it and she agreed but with the condition she was allowed to jump on the bed at the same time.

We had a good walk to the bridge and the girls spent ages watching the kayakers braving the rapids. Children are not at all worried about staring and so whilst the kayakers had their long debrief both girls scrutinised them keenly from their slightly raised viewpoint. I was starting to try and get the girls (Heidi wearing her fairy wings over her coat) and the kayakers with their bright kayaks in one photo frame when Heidi shouted 'I need to do a wee mummy'. Game over, everyone was laughing and we were running!
