Someone Took The Mickey!

My blip was given to me on a plate this morning, together with my pão na chapa - grilled bread - and fresh pineapple and orange juice. It is the run up to carnival after all and for the Cariocas, sights like this hardly merit heads turning!

The afternoon was spent in a taxi for 40 mins to Barra, where we needed to buy a little part for our plug sockets (or rather 44 little parts!), as well as a few other bits and bobs, 40 mins in the queue because the system was down, then 40 mins back to Copacabana. To be honest, the drive's rather pleasant, the taxi was air-conditioned and it took us back to the days spent out in these shops three years ago when we renovated our little studio. At least the plug parts were in stock (we'd tried a few shops during the week) and we're fairly confident they're going to do the job.

Evening was a walk along the front and dinner in a local restaurant.
