Celebatory Brew

Today was Day #2 of the Northampton (Noho) cyclorcross race. Again, I awoke up early and drove out, though this time I picked up @guerra so I had some company.

I had another front row start. @guerra said to me: "Dude, I have the camera, I want to see you get that hole shot. Bury yourself, even if you fall off the back afterward."

Knowing that a photo is glory forever, I went for it. I didn't get the hole shot, but I was about 5th wheel onto the grass. The best start I ever had. usually I give up a lot of positions on the start as I fumble for my pedals. Today it wasn't like that.

Then I had an epic 1.5 lapts and was still sitting pretty in the race. Then the course marshells screwed something up and about 20-30 people got to cut a whole section of the course and next thing you know I was sitting way far back. This took the fight out of me. But I still managed to finish.

This is the beer that @This Ain't No Pic Nic brought and not only is the can really cool looking, but it tasted good, too. And the beautiful warm, blue-bird New England day didn't hurt. Screw the race.
