Life through the lens...

A young King Canute?

Took lots of photos today, but this was the one I liked best.
Dad was shouting it was time to go, but this boy couldn't resist the sea.

After a stay at Exeter Travelodge we had breakfast in Charlestown, near St Austell. Which is where I took this photo.

Then on to Caerhays Castle and gardens.
This is the first year we have been and the magnolias haven't been out.
However we had a lovely walk round, and there were many camellias out, also primroses, snowdrops, and daffodils.
Again the storms had brought many of the trees down. Also some large branches off some of the very tall pine trees.

Then did a detour to Porthleven and there the damage wasn't quite as bad as we expected.
They have been very busy clearing everything up, and doing repairs.
It did seem very strange to see the harbour empty, no boats at all!
Will be back later to have a better look round.

Then on to our bungalow which will be home for 2 weeks.
A very friendly welcome from the couple who own it.
They actually knew many of the people who were friends of my mum and dad when they lived down here.
It was great chatting about old times.

They had filled the house with daffodils, also bought bacon ,eggs ,tomatoes, bread,
milk, tea, coffee, and Cornish biscuits for us.
Not a sea view, but a view of the countryside, and over to Godolphin Hill.
Lovely and cosy too.
Two weeks won't be long enough!
