Spring making

The closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics featured a spring making machine, casting mimosa flowers far and wide.

If it had been in Scotland not Sochi, the machine would probably be casting out snowdrops, as their appearance in patches around the verges, woods and parks signals that winter is nearly over.

But I'm taken with the Canadians' hashtag for these Games: #'WeAreWinter. And when Sidney Crosby scored in the men's ice hockey final I really felt it :-)
