Only time for this rubbish snapshot today. It's a 'what I was doing' type blip, really of interest only to my future self.

A couple of music events this weekend. Last night, Bach's Mass in B minor in Bath Abbey, performed by the New London Consort, but not with their normal conductor, Philip Pickett, who has other preoccupations at the moment. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic performance, with the alto solo 'Agnus Dei' a definite highlight.

And today, a live relay from the ENO of Peter Grimes, a production which I saw in the flesh in 2009. It's a masterpiece - always emotionally devastating and thought provoking. The tenor Stuart Skelton inhabits the title character completely now - I can't imagine anyone better in the role.
