Making Lumber the Old Way
Went to the Flywheelers meet today. A beautiful day weatherwise and nice to be out and about. They were putting on a demonstration on how they made lumber in days gone by. All done with machinery using flywheels. I had a pencil sharpened on a sharpener powered by a flywheel. There was a rocking horse powered to rock by a flywheel. We were told these flywheels can run 8 hours on a one gallon of gas. Even an old washing machine running powered by a flywheel. They had an old town set up, old cars, lots of junk food and hot boiled peanuts. A great time. You can see more photos here if you're interested. There is one in that group of a two wheeled contraption that sure looked like a lot of fun to play with.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
