At Scarborough: The sea......x
I miss the sea.
We are landlocked where we live.
The sea is a stabilising factor. Perhaps thats because of its vast horizon in contrast to the ever changing seascape. Everything is evolving quietly and slowly on this beach. We went in search for the infamous dinosaur footprints that lay in some of the rocks here.
I used to think that it was wrong to take a stone from this beach because you would be stopping its natural evolution. Changing shape with each wash of the tide. Rolling. Grinding.
I like to think of this beach scape all of those thousands of years ago. Who picked up which stones and wondered about the markings in each.... Beau's very worn glass candlestick.... a great find... perhaps he should have left it to evolve.
Its come home with us....x
