The Lifespan of the Roses

What a difference a day makes, well in this case ten days.

Ten days ago these roses were beautiful, soft and sweetly perfumed reaching for the light.

Today they are so brittle they are crumbling in my hands, they are upright no more and have lost their scent.

One quality remains - they are beautiful still.
